What is the correct height for a pool table light?

This topic is available here on The Repair-Place forum
Ok you can see I am setting up a pool table room.
Does anyone know the correct height for the light that hanges over a pool table?
Does the length of the fixture matter?
What about the size of the light bulbs?

Thanks!
IVE SEEN THEM HANG AS LOW AS 30'' FROM THE TABLE TOP, I THINK 36'' WOULD BE BETTER THO, STILL A LOT OF LIGHT BUT YOU WONT BANG YOUR HEAD ON CERTAIN SHOTS..
There is a formula to figure that out. When shooting angle shots, there is a way to use the light reflection on the object ball and que ball so line up the shot.
Too bad I don't know the formula!! Embarassed

It depends on the length of the table / lights as well as the height off the table surface.

Anyone know this?
One suggestion: high enough to not hit your head on... or your visitors. Our short friends forget that us tall people need extra clearance!
Ok i think I answered my own question. I went to 2 different pool halls and measured the height of the lighting.
36" seems to be the standard. One guy that works there asked me what I was doing and he told me 36" too.

Thanks for the help!
hehe 36" from the ground? I bet it's 36" off the playing surface!
