Deciding on what type of lighting would be personal choice. I like the recessed lighting in my kitchen. I used the 4” type with real small flood lamps. There are 14 of them! I also used a few eyeballs to direct the light from the sides at the cook top, so there aren’t any shadows while cooking. I tried spots and floods and found spots do exactly that, put a spot of light the size of a dinner plate, so I switched to floods. All the bulbs are 50 watt.
