So, How do you like your Ryobi Cordless Tool Set?

This topic is available here on The Repair-Place forum
So tell me, how do you like your Ryobi cordless set?

I debated long and hard about buying that set at Home Depot, and finally didn't buy it. This is the 18-Volt version and comes with 2 batteries and...

Cordless Vacuum
Cordless Flashlight
Cordless Drill / Cordless Hammer Drill
Cordless Jig Saw
Cordless Reciprocating Saw (like a Sawzall)
Cordless Circular Saw
Cordless Chain Saw (Cordless Chainsaw ?)

Did I get the list right?

How long does it take to charge?
How long does a charge last?
Do the tools ever stall out?
Do the tools sound good / have they held up?
Do the tools "feel good in the hand"?

Do you find that the wheeled bag is a good system for storing the tools? Have you figured out a way to store them all easily?
How much does that thing weigh with all the tools in it?
Could you lift it into your trunk without help?

Thanks

EDIT: This one?

<Drool...>
They also make a Cordless Miter Saw and a Cordless Rotary Saw...
I've got the set with the mitre saw, circular saw, reciprocating saw, drill, flashlight and something else I can't remember. It's probably another saw that I don't know what to use it for.

The batteries take 3 hours or so to charge and they hold a charge for quite some time. I've never used one up in one sitting.

The tools never stall out, they feel good to use, not too heavy, not too wimpy.

I use the drill all the time, but it's a bit heavy for use as a screwdriver. The reciprocating is my new favorite. Smile

This set came in the rolling storage case, where the top doubles as the stand for the mitre saw. The neighbor borrows the mitre saw all the time.

I wonder how all the stuff in your picture fits in that bag! Especially the chain saw.

They need to start including a sander - don't you think that would be more useful than a chainsaw?

I had a bugger of a time getting it out of the Explorer, but then, I'm a girl. It was a big box & heavy. I had to take the tools out before I took the case down to the basement workshop.

I say go for it!
I've been saying that for 6 months now... If he listens to you and does buy the tool set, then.... POW - BANG! right to the moon Ron!!!

I don't think I've seen that set... Do you recall where you bought it?

I hope you get something out of the deal.

Tough question. I needed a chainsaw, but the battery op might be too heavy... and electric was just about right (It was a long reach). I would probably wind up adding the sander, that's the great thing about the interchangable battery system, it's fairly inexpensive to add another tool.

I was going to "go for it" but that time one of the tools on display had a battery in it, and when I operated the tool it didn't feel "quality" so that put me off a bit. Of course the batt was a little low on juice...

Still undecided.
I bought it at Home Depot a couple years ago. I just looked and don't see it on the HD or the Ryobi sites now, so I guess you're out of luck.

The neighbor cleans out my gutters, so I think I'm getting the better deal!

Go back again. Buy the set. You'll love it.

Trust me.
Or then again you could get the Dewalt set or the Porter Cable set which costs only $600.00 or there is always the Hilti cordless tools which cost twice that or then you could always go for the Milwaukee pro cordless tools which cost so much they cut and drill the wood for you. Or then there is the cadillac of the cordless tools from Fein. If you have to ask how much... Rolling Eyes

Waht are these Fein cordless tools you speak of, and where can I see them?
Fein tools are awesome! They have a multitude of different tools some cordless some corded. There is a sander called Cordless MultiMaster msx 315, that is awesome. There are cordless screwguns too. They are available in woodworking stores like Woodcraft Stores. Fein also has a vacuum that works great too. Go check them out!
