Table Saw Question

This topic is available here on The Repair-Place forum
Can a smaller blade be put on a 10" table saw? It seems a smaller blade should fit, but loses some ability as to depth of cut. Does the rpm value change, or is it just constant for your saw measured at the spindle?
Absolutely! I use an 8" blade all the time. You are right that the depth of cut will be reduced but horse power will increase slightly! Also the blade will vibrate less too. I always use a blade stiffener on the larger (10" and up) blades.

RPM will be the same at the spindle. The speed if measured at the tooth will be slightly less with a smaller blade but it shouldn't matter much.
