leaking anti-siphon faucet

This topic is available here on The Repair-Place forum
It's the outside faucet and the water is turned on water spews and runs from under the plastic plastic cap on top of the faucet. The cap has "Anti-siphon" on it and from what I understand, this plastic cap is a part of the vacuum breaker. When I try to remove the cap, it just turns and does not loosen.

While Bentley finds it to be very exciting, it's really cutting down on the water pressure for the hose.

Can I fix it myself?

I'm having the same problem...any solutions found? Very Happy
I called the plumber and he says the faucet needed to be replaced. Sad

The anti-siphon outside faucet leaks when I turn it on. I was able to take the plastic cap off and observed the float valve's operation, but I could not remove the valve.

Home Depot said all outdoor faucet can be un-screwed from the wall and a matching replacement faucet should be around $20. I tried but can not un-screw the faucet.

Could you tell me what did the plumber did?
