Rusty Stack Pipe

This topic is available here on The Repair-Place forum In the midst of a rather ambitious diy bathroom retiling project, I've discovered that the stack pipe is rather rusty at the top. Is this normal or am I going to have to call in a plumber to replace it? I REALLY don't want to have to have major plumbing done right now. (Keeping fingers crossed). Thanks, Tornado Hi and welcome! Is the pipe structurally sound? In other words is it just surface rust or is it rusted through and through and paper thin?
