I have a shower/bathtub that is slow to drain. The plumbing runs between the 1st and 2nd floor. The drain goes into an old style copper trap. In the past I have been successful with a plunger and really hot water, but this time it is not working. I too have used Muriatic Acid on other plumbing stoppages, but that stuff is strong, and definetely does not want to be in contact with hot water.
Question #1 How does Muriatic Acid affect ABS and PVC Plastic, copper, cast iron, teflon tape and pipe dope ?
Question #2 What is a good drain cleaner, either a home remedy or something to be purchase from a plumbing supplier ?
Question #3 Any other ideas ? |
